trina.

She definitely deserves the respect. She doesn't have an album out or sold any records, but it's more so about the passion and the response she gets from the listeners. To see her pave her way from nothing to come up to be a topic or a name. You give that respect to the person coming up making a name for themselves. That's just real talk. I don't pull any punches. People say I give too much credit to people but it's not about that. It's about being real. And being real is giving props when it's due. You can't be hating or mad when you see people doing their thing."
"She's a beautiful person," Trina told The BoomBox. "I love her spirit and her energy. We talk occasionally about different things. Whether it's the business, trying to get your crew right, the stress of the album, the stress people got on you in the studio -- just a bunch of different things."I think it's important [to ask questions] because in the business it's one of those things where you're always trying to learn something different," Trina went on. "Talking to people about different things and I think that's what keeps you afloat and that's what keeps strengthening you and moving forward. She's new and to embrace her, it's a wonderful thing. She gave wonderful energy and I really love it. She's a Sagittarius like me, so it's an instant chemistry kind of thing."
robin thicke.

Like many, Thicke fell for the hip-hop Barbie. "Nicki is a very, very special young lady," he tells Rap-Up.com. "Not only is she incredibly talented and sexy and charming, but she's also a really good person and she's very smart, so I think she's gonna have a very long career."?
jacki-o.

"A lot of people ask me about [Nicki] and I think they wanna see if I'm gonna take shots... I've never been a hater. When I came in the game I never stepped on toes. As a female, you're being competitive when you rap and you may say little things while you rappin' but to come straight out and just take shots at another female, I never did that 'cause I never felt like I had to do that. I seen her bubblin' from the beginning. She reached out to me a couple times. We never got to a chance to work, but I always had words of encouragement for her, like, "Keep doin' ya thing, and just do you." And now that I see she's doin' that, she gon' get shot at [by other people]. I say, go for it, fuck 'em! Excuse my language, but just do you! If you look back and entertain the foolishness, then it's gonna take you off your focus, so, you know, I just say do you, and keep it moving!"
"Congrats to Nicki Minaj for doing her thing but a lot of things are still the same," Jacki-O told VIBE. "Men need to start recognizing the talent that females have and let us eat a little bit [but] at the same time, we just have to continue to work as hard as they do, if not harder, and continue to grind."
eve.

"I am a fan of the fact that she's a female MC in the game. I gotta be honest, I don't really know many of her records. I've seen a few things, honestly I don't [remember them] and I'm being really real. I don't really know her that well," she tells VIBE. "When she was on [the "My Chick Bad" music video] set, she was nice as shit. To me, if her music was dope and she would've been an asshole than I wouldn't have been a fan. I'm more a fan of hers as a person." Though Eve—who met Minaj for the first time in late March and heard the final versions of Ludacris' "My Chick Bad" a week before the Miami shoot wasn't too familiar with the Young Money front-woman's catalogue, she did think her verse was one-of-a-kind. "I mean, I think it's unique to who she is. It is what it is. You know what I mean? I thought it was dope," she says. "She definitely is a quirky chick. That's a good word for her. When she had the Freddy Krueger gloves I was like "'Wow.' But at the same time, whatever you decide to do, especially in music, you gotta go hard and own it. You can't be timid wearing Freddy Krueger gloves in a video. If you look insecure, people are going to be like "'Why are you doing that?' You gotta fucking own it and she did. I think that's dope."
