Nicki Minaj "Nappy Headed Hoe" Comment Disrespectful

I feel like Nicki Minaj need's to stop saying nappy headed hoe that sh*** is veruy disrespectful I love Nicki, and unlike other I like the song "stupid hoe" but the "nappy headed hoe" comment she made more than once is disrespectful to naturals and disresptful to black women, and men.

Alot of young girls look up to Nicki and are going to feel they need to Perm thier hair and they don't, you shouldn't have to chemically change something you were born with if you don't have too, and without those wigs and weaves Nicki wears her hair will be naturally curly.

She needs to watch what she say's that is all

    although I agree with u to a certain extent I think ur taking it the wrong way cuz she says "Them nappy headed hoes, but my kitchen good" I think she meant it in the sense of ur hair looks raggedy? not that ur looks raggedy cuz ur wearing it naturally?.. ya see the diff?

    thats an interesting opinion... ill say your right. I see why you feel that way but I dont think you should feel that disrecpected because Nicki makes comments like that towards all kinds of people

    She has lots of fans that are gay and fans that wear levis, and either line could be looked at as disrespectful but it shouldnt be.

    I understand that but like I said she can't control wat people what people do to they hair and who finds it disrespectful. There are other things that probably offended people, this is an example in your opinion. She cant take out bits and pieces for you or other peoples likeing, especially if she gets slaked for certain songs she has, but I understand your point :DDD

    I'm reading this for the 1st time and so I know I'm months behind this thread but I wanted Britt to know I agree with her. Nicki is a greAt artist and has the right to free speech, however terms like "Nappy Headed Hoes" is a slap in the face. I feel it promotes hair straighteners. As if to say straight hair is a sign of high status or superior beauty over those who wear their hair natural. So we straighten it or cover it with silky straight weaves to fit a standard that is closer to Caucasian and as far from African as we can possibly get. White people don't like our hair and make us feel like its ugly so why as black people should we fuel those hateful ideals towards each other? For a radio play? Or a few laughs? Is it worth the psychological and social enslavement? Hell no. Calling someone nappy to me is equivalent to being an "Uncle Tom." Using my hair to insult me is like trying to Shane me for the texture I was born with, given to me by my African predecessors. It's wrong and Idgaf who says otherwise. Your wrong and delusional, childish and miseducated if you think it's ok. Grow up and realize what slavery has done and is continuing to do because we allow it.

    I am being honest when I say this, I felt a little disrespected as well. I am all natural as well, I do not have a weave or straighteners in my hair. Nicki is mixed with Indian and African, in Trinidad we call them 'douglas'. Their hair is soft and curly and grows long. Kinda like a kid mixed with black and white. Hence the term 'good hair'. Except that Nicki's hair is more coarse, but it still grows long.

    So when she said nappy headed hoes, I felt a lil bit slighted, even though I know she doesn't mean to insult me and my heritage.
    However, I grew to know Nicki more and listen to her flow and style. What Nicki does is drop punchlines. She si the master of punchlines. There is no other rapper, male or female who drops punchlines like she does.

    Remember when she dropped that Romney punchline, everyone was up in arms. Until Obama tweeted he didn't believe the hype. Come on, did we really need the President to tell us what she really meant?

    Safe to say I no longer feel the way I did at first, she is a lyricist and will say things that's witty and catch and that will make you sit up and notice. I do not think she is calling black women nappy headed hoes because she has good hair or because she hates the natural look. I think nappy headed hoes is a tasteless but clever metaphor.
