Poem - Stephanie
Stephanie heard the footsteps coming and she knew this would be a long night.
She said to herself over and over again, “This isn’t right!”
Around this time, she would crawl up in the corner and wish she was dead.
“Little girl get over here before I kill you,” was all he said.
As always, she did as she was told.
When Stephanie looked into his eyes, she wondered why they looked so cold.
As he pinned her on the ground, she tried to release herself from his grip.
All she heard was the sound of her shirt rip.
She closed her eyes real tight.
If he saw a tear fall from her eyes, kill her, he just might.
Every night around midnight, this was all she felt.
Next thing she heard was the unbuckling of his belt.
She whispered to herself, “God, I don’t wanna go through this anymore.
Can you please, please end this war?!”
Never once does she want to someone to feel what she felt, as you can see.
You may ask me how I know, because Stephanie is me.
