Thirteen Years

Thirteen years with one company or organization. The thought alone for someone from my generation is overwhelming. We were the ones who were told, "You can do anything you set your mind to!" As well as, "The sky is the limit!" I honestly believe, I will be chasing that sky, forever... Which is why the fact that my mother is celebrating her 13th year with her employer today, is boggling.

As I approach my blog-birthday (1-Year Blog Anniversary for and consider the changes in my life, emotions felt, and my experiences in these 365 days, and then the think about the length of thirteen years (4735 days) on top of that, my mind is blown. I don't know how you all feel about this life thing, but I think it is crazy. It is even crazier when put into the context of thirteen years.

I am congratulating my mother for her last four-thousand-thirty-five days today. I am congratulating her because she's done something that I have a hard time imagining and understanding. I only have 24 years on Earth and I do not know how she's done it. My mother has caught that same bus #60 to work everyday. While desiring the opposite she did that. While experiencing many changes, emotions, and having all kinds of shit going on too, she did that. Mommy you did that! You lost your son and you did that!

I am so proud of you. I only hope to possess and ounce of your resiliency and ability to steadfast. I hope I can put in work like you.
