Man or woman, masculine or feminine, gay or straight. So the fuck what.

This is something that’s been bothering me a lot lately. I am what you may call a nice guy. I’d say I’m rather a mellow dude, a good friend, a better lover, I love to laugh and crack jokes, educated, realist, opinionated, free-spirited, an asshole at times and sensitive at times. I don’t really like sports, race cars, or other manly things but I enjoy playing video games. I’m never own one myself besides handhelds like the DSi, Game Boy: Color/Advance/SB. I never had a Play Station or an Xbox or a Game cube so I wasn’t a video game head because my grandmother thought that it’ll distract me from my school work which was a waste because I still fucked up and made dumb decisions. Anyways, I always liked performing arts. So I was dedicated to music and theatre and dancing and now fashion. I hate it when ignorant people call me a faggot because I dress different, eat different , and talk different. I've been told I talk like a bitch once because I was at a 7-Eleven in my hood saying please and thank you. Does it make me a less of a man for having manners? I hate what defines someone as masculine or feminine. The most masculine guy could be gay and some guys who or perceived as feminine be straight. I'm not masculine but yet I don't see myself as feminine. I like to look good, smell good and eat good and I have a vast sense of vocabulary and I think before I speak. I listen to all types of music. I remember when my aunt asked me if I was gay because I had Miguel, Cher, Madonna, Green Day and Adam Lambert on my ipod? But she didn't acknowledge that I had Jay Z, Eminem, Tupac and Drake. I remember I was watching Britney Spear's Circus video at the library when it came out and the boys behind me were making fun of me and calling me gay because I was watching it. Now I want to know why do people care so much about these labels. If I want to listen to pop music let me listen to it, If I want to listen to rap let it be. It doesn't make me any less of a man. Why is that females don't get much hate for listening to rap? Not that they should but if you want to judge EVERYONE should be judged. But now I don't care. I am who I am, this is how I want to be. If you like it come join my party and if you don't that's fine just don't make it a problem where things have to get ugly.

I experience the same problem almost EVERYDAY! It may not pertain to the type of music I listen, but the way I dress, act, and just who I am. It's the double standard that society has. We put a gender to every activity and when someone goes against that, they're instantly judged. Niggaz just be sitting around and waiting to pull you down. That's their 9-5. Just do you and forget them xo
